Emerald Coast Writers (ECW) has published the voices of regional writers in poetry collections, chapbooks, books and anthologies for more than 35 years. Located in Pensacola, Florida, with offices in the Pensacola Cultural Center, ECW is a 501 (c) 3 Not for Profit, all-volunteer organization. ECW biennially publishes Emerald Coast Review, a regional anthology, and sponsors poetry, student poetry and creative nonfiction contests throughout the year. In addition, they offer workshops with guest authors and poets, critique groups, webinars and open mics. The membership includes Floridians as well as writers living as far away as North Carolina and Kentucky. Formerly known as West Florida Literary Federation, in 2022 ECW changed its organizational name.
Emerald Coast Writers announces its first-ever t-shirt design contest for the annual Books By the Bay Festival in Pensacola, Florida. Books By the Bay, the largest literary event in Northwest Florida, is a family friendly festival featuring authors, readers, children's activities, publishers and literary-themed exhibitors. The winning t-shirt design will be printed on the back of all volunteer and event planner t-shirts and available for purchase at the event. The creator of the winning design wins a $50 Purchase Award, and coverage in the event program and on all social media platforms. Use your imagination and be inspired by books and submit your best color design in 11 x 11-inch, 300 dpi or higher resolution, to be printed on a golden-yellow t-shirt. Open to all U.S. residents, over age-16. No fee to submit.
